Why Can't We?

Education these days is a serious business. Yes, a business, and that too a serious one. Why else would we see such a rushing spate of schools, colleges, even universities, sprouting all over the country, even though the number of educated unemployed youth shows no signs of ebbing.

Well, the situation is serious, mostly because we, ourselves, have allowed this to happen, in our race to cultivate doctors, engineers, MBAs, etc, etc, etc....

When you see a child of 8 or 9 years picking up a school bag, double, triple or even five times his weight, you are bound to realise that there is something wrong with our education system somewhere, aren't you? I mean, take a look: our education policy is stale, our curriculum is outdated and our policy-makers are apathetic. Right???

Then why do we not do something about it? Why should we just sit there and shake our heads in disgust? Why can't we get out and do something of ourselves to help schools prepare their students for a better tomorrow?

Yes, why can't we?
